Description

Join the Spriet Family Players! Children who are learning to use a speech-generating device can act alongside the Original Kids in a Drama performance.

Setting the Stage is a half-day morning camp for children, 3-12 years old, who are learning to use Speech Generating Devices and who need lots of opportunities to develop their communication skills. Participants ("actors") will be supported by youth from the Original Kids Theatre Company in a variety of theatre based games and activities. They will rehearse and perform 3 short play adaptations, which will be presented to an audience of family and friends on the final day of camp. Actors must bring their Speech Generating Device to be used throughout the week for communication. TVCC ACS clinicians will provide tech support and training for the Original Kids.

Older youth will be considered on a case by case basis, depending on their communication abilities.
